Specifications

Finishing Specifications

Our bamboo towels are produced using advanced closed-loop processing, ensuring minimal environmental impact while maintaining premium softness and durability.”

Process Explaination

Harvesting Bamboo

• Mature bamboo (3–5 years) is cut and collected
• This ensures strong and flexible fibers

Fiber Extraction

• Fibers are combed or separated from pulp
• Can be done:
o Mechanically (eco-friendly)
o Chemically (viscose process – most common)

Cutting & Crushing

• Bamboo stalks are cut into strips

• Mechanically crushed into pulp-like material

Spinning into Yarn

• Extracted cellulose is spun into fine yarn

• Often blended with cotton for durability & softness

Retting / Soaking Process

• Fibers are softened using water, enzymes, or eco-chemicals
• Lignin is removed to isolate pure cellulose

Weaving (Terry Construction)

• Yarn is woven into looped terry fabric

• This creates absorbent towel structure

Our Banana Steam towels are produced using Eco-friendly processing & low chemical treatment, Pre-shrunk & softened finish, Reinforced stitching for durability, Natural dye option available, Minimal linting & long fiber strength retention.”

Process Explaination

Harvesting of Banana Stem

• After banana fruit harvest, the pseudostem (trunk) is collected
• This is usually agricultural waste, making it highly sustainable

Cleaning & Washing

• Extracted fibers are washed to remove :
o Sap
o Lignin
o Dirt & impurities
o Chemically
• Ensures cleaner, softer textile-grade fiber

Spinning into Yarn

• Fibers are spun into yarn
• Often blended with cotton (e.g., 60% banana / 40% cotton) for:
o Softness
o Lingni
o Better usability

Cutting & Layer Saperation

• The stem is cut into sections (120–150 cm approx.)

• Outer, middle, and inner layers are separated for fiber extraction

Drying Process

• Fibers are naturally sun-dried or air-dried

• Reduces moisture and enhances fiber strength

Weaving into Fabric (Towel Formation)

• Yarn is woven into:
o Terry loops
o Waffle or textured weave
• This creates absorbent towel structure

Fibre extraction (Core Process)

• Fibers are extracted using:
o Mechanical decorticator machines
o Manual scraping (for premium quality)
• The machine scrapes and separates fibers from pulp

Combing & Sorting

• Fibers are:
o Combed
o Aligned
o Sorted by length & quality
• This improves uniformity for yarn spinning

Finishing Process

• Softening & bio-wash
o Combed
• Dyeing (natural or eco dyes)
• Quality testing (GSM, absorbency, durability)
